The text seeks to position Margaret Fuller in the context of transatlantic Romanticism and so to re-orient critical readings of her work. It is argued that Fuller innovated with romantic forms much more so than her counterparts and got involved in a larger cultural movement. Her self-invention is also discussed as part of her Romantic vision.
