Sažetak
This paper investigates the impact of room acoustics and background noise on acoustical monitoring of the desired sound source and in addition, if already known room acoustics parameters can be used to increase robustness of such monitoring system. The paper studies the use of microphone arrays in cases where background noise is too loud and one omnidirectional microphone has difficulties with precise monitoring. Furthermore, the paper considers if directional properties of monitoring systems (also if known) can increase system’s robustness. Theoretical research is shown through Odeon simulation results, post processed in Matlab, in order to get an idea what can be expected in practical cases.
