Sažetak
We might ask: “What is the roll of ethics debate within global and academic multicultural sphere? - Searching for some new answers to such and similar questions, the author wants to investigate the status and purpose of teaching ethics within identity debate represented by notable thinkers whose particular ideas marked contemporary philosophical milieu: Charles Taylor and K. A. Appiah. Another thing we want to do herein – metaphorically speaking – is to ‘confuse potential readers by offering them some new approaches concerning the ethics of identity issue which are still (unfortunately) less known to broader Croatian academic milieu. These approaches, concerning their theoretical base, are in some aspects very close to the Christian conception regarding the value of multicultural identity attached to multicultural dialog within different cultures and religions today. Throughout the history of philosophy many thinkers (e. g. Aristotle, Heidegger, Buber, Levinas, Habermas) gave us their specific explanation of how our lives, actions, relationships and desires are unimaginable to understand outside the dialogical frame. This theme has already been investigated many times, in many places and by many different names, but for the sake of academic opinion exchange let us considers this paper as Croatian theoretical contributions to the multicultural identity debate within global and multicultural academic society.
