Sažetak
Objective: Both HLA-B27 and HLA-B7 are asociated with jSpA. HLA-B*0702 and HLA-B*2705 share the same B pocket. The frequency of the HLA-B7 antigen in the Croatian population is 8.2%, and the HLA-B27 is 11%, respectively. We determined the presence of HLA-B7/27 in 90 children with jSpA in whom the tissue typing was done.In 22 children with jSpA we analyzed the B7/27 subtypes. Patients and methods: A chart review was done of 90 jSpA patients followed from 1999-2001. ErA was diagnosed based on ILAR criteria, ReA based on criteria proposed by Braun et al. 2000, and jAS as proposed by Burgos-VArgas et al. 1996. DNA was isolated by salting-out method and B7/27 subtypes were determined by PCR-SSP method (Dynal, Norway) Conclusions: We found an increased relative risk in developing jSpA in the HLA-B7 positive children. HLA-B*0702 was predominant subtype among the Croatian children with jSpA. HLA-B7, like HLA-B27 is strongly associated with jSpA in Croatian children
