Sažetak
The method for a study of the two-dimensional (plane) potential flow around solid is presented. The fluid velocity is a gradient of so-called velocity potential that satisfies Laplace's differential equation. Partial integration of Laplace's differential equation leads to an integral equation that has to be solved with respect to the specific boundary conditions. The problem arises from the fact that solid is in the stream that is definable as undisturbed only far enough from the solid. Therefore, it is convenient to develop an analytical solution of those integrals by which the boundary conditions corresponding to undisturbed flow are integrated. Since it is difficult to find an exact solution of the developed integral equation, it is convenient to apply some numerical method, such as the so-called boundary element method, by which the integral equation is approximated with the system of linear equations. The unknowns in those equations are velocity potentials at the chosen set of boundary points. As soon as the velocity potential on the solid boundary is determined, further analyses of flow require a relatively small number of additional numerical operations.
