Sažetak
EMTP-RV software has been used for a few decades mostly for slow and fast transients. The most typical studies were indeed lightning surge and transformer energization. New modules have been developed quite recently to enlarge the scope of studies that can be easily done with EMTP-RV (stability, protections, lightning induced overvoltage, parametric studies, renewable energies…) and some new modules are about to be released (Power Quality, Load-Flow…). EMTP-RV is numerically a very performant tool, it is very flexible and can in principle be used for a very broad range of applications. Nevertheless, the experience has shown that its use for standard engineering applications is not completely obvious. The goal of this study is to provide elements to catch up with the other software programs regarding functionalities related to classical electrical engineering studies which do not require a very specialized scientific expertise. The object of the study is to specify short-circuit toolbox for classical engineering studies, keeping in mind that the final users of these toolboxes will be electrical technicians and engineers (and not researchers). Toolbox needs to be in agreement with the way the technical issues they address are normally dealt with in the industry, in particular with the application of the IEC 60909 standard. The study gives directions for development of new short-circuit toolbox for EMTP-RV in accordance with IEC 60909 standard.
