Sažetak
Macrolide antibacterials are known to affect inflammatory mediator release and neutrophil functions in vitro. We decided to study the influence of a standard antibacterial dosage regimen of azithromycin (500mg/day for three days) on degranulation of neutrophils in healthy human subjects. Degranulation was evaluated by measuring activities of enzymes from azurophilic granules.
