Sažetak
This paper investigates the importance of the visual domain in the (new) economy of signs. By analyzing two cases of visualization of events (Croatian War of Independence and the Ukrainian crisis), the paper reiterates the need for visual studies to reconsider the social and cultural impact of the symbolic capital. Furthermore, this paper seeks to acknowledge the manipulation of media in the digital realm, evoking an understanding of the structural complexities of new media and proposing a model which would include an inter-subjective understanding of the media dialectics.
