Sažetak
The historic centre of Šibenik received considerable bomb damage during the Second World War. Among the entirely destroyed buildings was the Renaissance Civic Loggia, built between 1534 and 1547. Early after the war, from 1947 to 1960, the exterior of the building was reconstructed in its original form through the efforts of the conservators Cvito Fisković and Frane Dujmović, and the architect Harold Bilinić. In the paper, I discuss the historical narrative guiding the complex reconstruction project, which both drew on and contributed to the post-war change in the perception of Dalmatian art and architecture.
