Sažetak
The process of islamization and integration of the territory of Bosnia within the Ottoman-Islamic cultural norms was, among others, conducted through urbanization. Istanbul central government had deliberately prompted the foundation of new cities, roads, bridges and caravanserais with all infrastructure that enabled development of trade. The proposed talk aims to gather previously published, but scattered data about Sokolovic family as patrons of hans and caravanserais in order to analyse and reinterpret their patronage within historic context. The presentation will focus also on a formal analysis of certain examples and compare them to other contemporary hans and caravanserais in Bosnian eyelet and in other parts of the Ottoman Empire in order to determine the contribution on Sokolovic patronage on creation and development of architectonic type.
