Sažetak
Science is one of the fastest growing human activities, and its understanding is of great importance to modern society. The latest scientific research results significantly extend our present knowledge and are often very important for science-oriented secondary school subjects. These results are often obtained through technically and conceptually complex processes, and their adaptation and introduction into the teaching process requires a pedagogical problem. This paper introduces a new method of introducing the latest scientific knowledge into grammar school physics. The study lasted for three months and it was done on 65 secondary school students in Split. As an example of new scientific discoveries, the knowledge about the expansion of the universe that was introduced in the teaching of physics was introduced through problem-focused learning with an emphasis on research. This process is dominated by collaborative and e-learning. An original approach was developed, students were organised into subprojects and combined teachers, students and scholars into a joint effort to achieve the goal. At the end of the project an anonymous survey was conducted whose results show that this teaching method is suitable for introducing new scientific knowledge into science-oriented secondary school subjects.
