Sažetak
Roundwood forwarding with current automatic tools relies in Croatia upon the traditional horse-carriage teams. In the past, they had been equally used for removing roundwood from the tree-stump to the off-road yard. In the period of powerful penetration of mechanization (1960 and later), along with home-made adaptations of tractors, tractor-trailer combinations were used. At the same time, forwarders started to be imported and applied to timber forwarding both in the lowlands and highlands. Under different terrain conditions, exploitation procedures of the forwarders Kockums 836; Kockums 850; Kockums 85-35; Volvo 911; Volvo 860 TC; Volvo 971; VKS 9041, and Timber-jack were examined. The results are the basis for the future estimation of the roundwood forwarding in Croatian forests. The paper presents the development and use of the wood-forwarding machines used in Croatian forestry, as well as the exploitation parameters such as velocity; dimension and load characteristics; standard time, and daily productivity.
