Sažetak
Screen printing technique is considered one of the oldest printing technique, although the wider commercial reproduction started in the 20th century. The great advantage of the screen printing is the possibility of using a different kind of printing inks that can be transferred through the mesh of the printing plate to the printing surface. In this paper in order to reproduce an image by using a special effect inks three different images were created, one made exclusively by using lines, the other using the planes and the third by using the combination of lines and the planes. For each of three images printing plates with different characteristics were made in order to determine which type of the printing plate are best suited for reproduction of a particular image. In addition to the printing plate characteristics, for each image a certain phosphorescent and fluorescent inks were used. For reproduction of a linear image blue phosphorescent color was used, for a plane image yellow-green phosphorescent ink, and for a combination of planes and lines red fluorescent ink was used. After all the necessary activities conducted in order to get the properly formed printing plates, the reproduction process followed. Images were reproduced on three types of substrates and the measurement were performed on printed images. The ink layer thickness, density and quality of reproduced lines were evaluated in order to determine which type of printing plate could be used for reproduction of images with special effect inks.
