Sažetak
When dealing with chronic ailments such as diabetes, often the quality of life could be vastly improved through changing certain behaviours or adapting a diet. Patients are encouraged to live a healthier lifestyle, but more often than not they fail to do so due to lack of motivation or the inability to track their progress. Research has shown that tracking health parameters such as glucose levels or daily activity encourages positive behaviours and empowers patients. The problem with tracking is that it often relies on the same patients that are for whichever reason unable to change their lifestyle. To ameliorate this, an integrated, ubiquitous computer system is proposed and developed in this paper for automated data acquisition and processing in diabetes patients. Through the utilization of modern platforms such as smartphones, wearable sensors and web services, it is able to remove the burden from the patient and emphasize the listed benefits.
