Sažetak
In a creative economy there is a growing need for high level professionals who can create and innovate value from an experience perspective. This new model of education is designed as a roadmap for that new ‘outside-in enterprise logic’. The objective of this paper is to explain how to create an experience-based system concept to attract new tourists and to create memorable experiences with consumers. It is important to provide students with key readings and concepts that will help them to analyse their experiences and evaluate the management activities involved in designing and staging them. It brings together two strands of literature about experiences, one from management and the other from the consumer perspective. As a case study we show the concepts of experience economy accepted in hotels in Austria and make a comparison with family and small hotels in Croatia. Research methods used are quantitative and qualitative with a combination of primary and secondary sources of information. The implications of these experience perspectives for the management of hospitality is to illustrate innovative thinking and practice in such areas as: designing and co- creating memorable experiences, analysing the elements of consumer experience, casting and performance regarding the role of staff in experience-creation, new holistic approaches to quality and satisfaction and the implementation of stories, dramas, narratives, symbols and meanings.
