Sažetak
This article examines the influence of numerical parameters in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) on the prediction of the ship's resistance and wave elevation on the hull. Quantitative verification and validation are conducted to numerically predict steady flows around a model of the parabolic Wigley hull using a finite volume method (FVM) solver compared to the experimental data. The solver is based on Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) equations and the Volume of Fluid (VOF) scheme for the free surface capturing. Six momentum discretization schemes are used in the analysis. In the sense of iterative calculation and time domain, boundary conditions were also discussed. The validation of the CFD solver and the effect of each parameter on the accuracy is analyzed by comparing the numerically obtained results of the resistance force and wave elevation curve on the hull surface to the experimental data.
