Sažetak
Karst represents a specific area of surface terrain and surface-subterranean hydrological networks. These networks are created by the circulation of water and its aggresive physical and chemical activity in the small karst fissures, cracks, bedding planes and in the large karst conduits that form in the layers of soluble rocs, such as limestone, dolomite, chalk, gypsum and salt.Centre for Karst, seated in Gospić (Croatia), is the organizer of the conference. The Centre, established by virtue of a Goverment Decree in 2005, was entrusted with conducted expert tasks pertaining to the coordination of projects in the areas of research, economic development and developmental projects concerning karst, organizing expert conferences and issuing thematic publications on karst.
