Sažetak
Following the death of Joseph Stalin, a process of rapprochement between the Soviet Union and Yugoslavia saw an increase in cultural troupes exchanged between the two countries. These cultural exchanges were met with suspicion from another superpower that had significant interests in Yugoslavia, the United States. Since Yugoslavia was an important dot in the US Cold War aims, it was necessary to take preventive measures. American officials stationed in Yugoslavia called for an increase in the visits of American performers in order to counter the effect of the Soviet ones. This paper will shed light on this cultural ''battle'' between the two superpowers in Yugoslavia following Stalin's death. It will show not only how culture was ''poured'' into Yugoslavia but how Yugoslavia used culture to further its own interests in both of these countries.
