Sažetak
The results of a study about the cause of development and the possibilites of treatment of the most frequent overuse syndrome in the knee region have been reviewed in the paper. 74 athletes were examined. With regards to the etiology we have established without any doubt that disturbed biomechanical relations in the knee were responsible for the onset of the symptoms. We have also established that regards to pathological Q-angle the pain was localized in the distal part of the patella. Investigations have shown that apart from the symptoms in two third of the athletes examined symptoms and clinical signs of chondromalacia of patella or femoropatellar osteoarthritis were present as well. This facts ought to be taken into consideration in the treatment of "jumper's knee".
