Sažetak
The Congress of the European Orthodontic Society is traditionaly organized every year in june. This year it was the 82nd congress and it was held at the Hofburg Congress Centre, located at the Heldenplatz in Vienna. This year the president of the European Orthodontic Society was prof.dr. Hans-Peter Bantleon. Congress was held between the 4th to 8th July. There were 67 exhibitors from all around the world, 450 posters, 82 oral presentations.There were four congress topics regarding occlusion and temporomandibular disorders ; controversies in orthodontic concepts ; tissue reaction during orthodontic therapy and evolution and ageing of man and individual variation. Very interesting oral presentations were presented by 45 speakers on above mentioned topics.The keynote speakers on the topic regarding occlusion and temporomandibular disorders were Pentti Kirveskari from Finland and Thor Henrikson from Sweden. One of the most interesting presentations, were controversies in orthodontic concepts perfomed by Alan Bagden from Washington DC. The keynote speakers on the topic regarding tissue reaction during orthodontic therapy were Yijin Ren, Chinese who works at Groningen University, The Netherlands, and Sabine Ruf from Giessen University, Germany. The topic, evolution and ageing of man and individual variation were presented in details by several speakers: Horst Seidler and Robert Gasser from Austria and Suresh Rattan from Denmark.
