Sažetak
The purpose of the conducted research is to analyse competitiveness of tourism in the Republic of Croatia by applying Index of tourism competitiveness and travel and to establish, based on conducted analysis, so far eff ects of Croatia’s EU membership on its tourism competitiveness. Also, the purpose of this research is, to establish scientifi cally based measures to improve Croatian tourism sector and to determine its perspectives for fur ther development. Th e Republic of Croatia is achieving progress according to key indicators of tourist competitiveness and realizing positive trends in almost all segments of tourism activities. Th e stated situation represents a challenge in conducting thorough reforms, the increase of quality and further positioning on global tourist market.
