Sažetak
Special Session on Smart Environments & Internet of Things was held in the frame of the 26th International Conference on Software, Telecommunications and Computer Networks (SoftCOM 2018) in attractive ambience of the Bluesun Resort Velaris and Waterman Supetrus Resort, both in Supetar, island of Brac, Croatia, September 13 to 15, 2018. The Conference was organized by the University of Split, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture under the auspices of the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports. The Conference has been technically cosponsored by the IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc). SoftCOM gathers researchers and experts from industry, research institutes and universities from all over the world. The technical conference program featured nine general conference sessions, three symposia, five special sessions and one workshop. Special Session on Smart Environments & Internet of Things was organized by the University of Split, FESB. In total, four papers were accepted for publication and presented at the Conference. The main goal of this Special Session was to present and discuss recent advances in the area of the Internet of Things, in particular on technologies, architectures, algorithms and protocols for smart environments with emphasis on real smart environment applications that are becoming research topics more and more interesting for both academia and industry.
