Sažetak
Tracing the deformation and material yielding process during dynamical loading and testing of material is constant challenge when comparing experimental and numerical results. Similar to Digital Image Correlation, infrared thermography based on fast cooled middle wave cameras, is an approach that brings the information of plastic yielding during the loading. The method enables obtaining full field image of effective strain occurring on object surface during dynamic loading. The method is limited to dynamic tests as in quasi-static case the heat dissipation disables clear images of yielding zones. The approach is particularly effective in regions of high strain localization.
