Sažetak
The overall objective of the Bin2Grid project is to promote segregated collection of food waste as energy source and its conversion to biogas through anaerobic digestion. Furthermore, the concept includes the upgrading of the biogas to biomethane and its utilization as transport fuel. It highlights the multiple environmental benefits of source-separate waste collection and conversion of that feedstock into biomethane, in comparison to other treatment methods. In the framework of the Bin2Grid project an Excelbased “Benchmark Tool for the sustainable collection and use of organic food-, beverageand household-wastes" was developed. This Benchmark Tool aims to show selected environmental and socio-economic advantages of anaerobic digestion in comparison to landfilling, incineration, and composting.
