Sažetak
Neurocognitive disorders are a group of disorders characterized by the deficit in the area of cognitive functioning with a decline in one or more cognitive domains and most often affecting people of older age. The perception of such patients is usually influenced by stereotypes which are often exaggerated and generalized. Predominantly negative attitude towards older people has far-reaching consequences for the individual, but also for the whole society. It is extremely important that the older people enjoy the support of younger ones. Organizing various activities that would aim to connect young people and the elderly and thus help to create or modify existing (negative) attitudes of one group to another, is of extreme importance. The concept of aging should not be confused with the deterioration. It would be more appropriate to consider aging as a development or change, while emphasizing the process. The change, as a process, is present in any period of life and is reflected in a different direction, range and intensity so it would be advisable to avoid the strict criteria of one-sidedness, irreversibility and universality.
