Sažetak
A 75-year-old female patient was admitted at University Psychiatric Hospital Vrapče due to organic affective disorder. This was her first hospital treatment. Over the last year and a half, following the death of her husband, the patient had become depressed, socially isolated and anxious, spending most of her time in bed. Du-ring her lifetime, she had not been seriously ill, although she suffered from arterial hypertension and atrial fibrillation. The worsening of the condition that preceded hospitalization was due to the introduction of a new antiarrhythmic drug. The patient became weaker, dyspnoeic, she felt lightheaded, confused, lost her volition and interest and ceased her activities. She was examined by an internal medicine specialist, who reviewed and changed her cardiological therapy, resulting in regression of all symptoms.
