Sažetak
This preface is an introduction to the papers that were presented at the conference entitled Crossing over to the Future: Interdisciplinarity in Research and Higher Education, held in Stockholm in 2017, and organized by the Academia Europaea and the Wenner-Gren Foundation. Three major topics are dealt with: 1. 'Interdisciplinarity in reearch' - obstacles and opportunities ; 2. From research to teaching - principles and programs ; and 3. 'Interdisciplinarity' and the academic career path. These three topics mirror a complexity of relations, and are definitely connected with science policies both at national and the European level.
