Sažetak
In 2017, Croatia saw a continuation of instability in both its legislative and executive branches. Prime Minister Plenkovic ended his party’s cooperation with the Bridge of Q2 Independent Lists (MOST) and formed a new government majority with the help of the liberal Croatian People’s Party (HNS), which subsequently caused a split in that party, as opponents of the coalition formed a new party. The local election confirmed the strength of established parties, but also entrenched the power of long-term local leaders. The Croatian Parliament continued its fragmented practice of frequent floor-crossing and the formation of new political parties from splinter groups.
