Sažetak
The main aim of this chapter is to analyse the case of the HDZ, which serves as a prime example of a charismatic movement party that has been institutionalised into a stable party organisation. More specifically, we focus on three dimensions of party institutionalisation, that is, internal, external and objective institutionalisation, with special emphasis on internal aspects of party institutionalisation, namely routinisation of intra-party behaviour and internal value infusion. We argue that current organisational forms and ideological patterns of the HDZ can be understood only if interpreted as transformation of charismatic and movement characteristics of the party from the initial stage of its development into durable, depersonalised and largely informal patterns of behaviour.
