Sažetak
In this lecture mapping and analyzing of recent events on Croatian and Bosnia and Herzegovina border in regards to border control, asylum and migration policies is a task to achieve. I indulge into analytical deconstruct of media portrayals and public attitudes towards refugees and migrants, which points to less welcoming atmosphere in both societies in the eve of new humanitarian concerns on the very edge of Schengen. Interplay of humanitarianism, border regimes, and politics of fear resulting in downgrading standards of international refugee protection in the Balkan region will thus be scrutinized.
