Sažetak
It is essential to know the characteristics of the lightning currents circulating through Line Surge Arresters (LSAs), in order to design and to select them efficiently. The graduate work starts with some general information on lightning data and improvement of the lightning performance of overhead lines. A specific chapter is devoted to line arresters. The graduate work continues with a chapter describing the line Ston - Komolac and a presenting the measurement system. Then the data presented in [CIGRE 63] is used as well as the software EMTP-RV and LIPS to evaluated theoretically the characteristics of the lightning current circulating in a line arrester, and the law of probability followed by this current.
