Sažetak
It is well known that there is no difference between sows in the incidence of stillborn piglets with regard to litter size. However, blood characteristic of sows and their alive and stillborn piglets, which are essential for oxygen supply of fetuses, are not thoroughly investigated. On the basis of the obtained hematological values we can conclude that asphyxia, which resulted in death of fetuses, is caused by insufficient oxygen supply because of deficiency in erythrocytes and hemoglobin.
