Sažetak
He structural analysis of the global 3D model of the complete hull construction of the floating dock has been performedusing the finite element method with Femap/Vertistar Hull from classification society Bureau Veritas (BV). Due to observed floating dockwith age of 100 years of and the significant corrosion wastagefrom the last hull thickness measurements, it was found necessary to carry out the structural analysis takeing into consideration initially dock load of1000 tons. The repair shipyard Cres has beensubmitted to the CroatianRegistry of Shipping (CRS) the hull drawings, together with the result ofthe mechanical properties of steel corresponding to the shipbuilding grade A (mild steel).Based on thatdocumentation, it was possible to perform FEM analysis. On thenumerical model, first step was to add all the masses of the unloaded dock, then the model was balanced in a way that the hydrostatic equilibrium was reached, and finally the model was controlled to achieve the bending moments and the transverse forces in the stillwater following the diagrams obtained from the stability calculus using the VeristarStability program from BV. The longitudinal and local strengths were analyzed for three loading conditions: light-ship, two 300-tonne vessels and a 750-tonne hull vessel. The loaded ships are described as attached masses on the model. Also, a reduced thickness of all structural elements was used in relation to the thicknesses of the hulldrawings. Structural responsein the form of displacements and stresses are verified in accordance with the requirements of the CRS Rulesand the rules of the Bureau Veritas for floating docks.
