Sažetak
Although technology installed on board ships advanced to a large degree during last decade, maritime accidents have still been happening. In support of this, there were few catastrophic accidents that resulted with injuries and deaths, fires and/or complete loss of ships. Available online databases (MAIB and NTSB) were searched for maritime accidents and analysis according to type of ship, cause of the accident and its consequence is made. Authors made a review of maritime accidents that occurred worldwide during last decade, revealed most common causes and consequences and found out which types of ships are accidents prone. Knowing the causes of such accidents can help to avoid them in future.
