Sažetak
As a concept, social vulnerability has been defined in terms of people’s capacity to anticipate, cope with, resist and recover from the impacts of a natural hazard. When considering the overall impact on societal groups, several categories need to be considered. Generally there can be the following three groups of categories to consider: (1) Societal impact, (2) Psychological effects and (3) Political effects. Social impacts include all social and cultural consequences to human populations of any public or private actions that alter the ways in which people live, work, play, relate to one another, organize to meet their needs, and generally cope as members of society. Psychological effects can be viewed as a disruption to the people’s daily routine. Political effects can be described as discontinuity or disruption of public services. For each category there will be five classes used to describe the impact of each category. This paper describes mentioned categories and it’s a part of scientific research in the EU-CIRCLE project, funded through the Horizon 2020 program of European Union.
