Sažetak
INTRODUCTION: Numerous studies have shown an irrefutable positive effect of perioperative chemotherapy in the treatment of esophageal, esophagogastric junction, and stomach adenocarcinoma patients. OBJECTIVE: Following current guidelines for oncological treatment of patients with esophageal, esophagogastric junction, and gastric adenocarcinoma, "multidisciplinary team (MDT) for the treatment of digestive system diseases" in General Hospital Varaždin began the application of FLOT protocol in the treatment of above mentioned. METHODS: Patients with esophageal, esophagogastric junction, and gastric adenocarcinoma were subjected to perioperative chemotherapy by FLOT protocol and appropriate surgical procedure. RESULTS: In this paper we present treatment results of the first patients with esophageal, esophagogastric junction, and gastric adenocarcinoma treated in General Hospital Varaždin according to the FLOT protocol. CONCLUSION: Initial favorable treatment results encourage us to carry out further studies on the results of this treatment modality.
