Sažetak
Last wills and testaments are inexhaustible historical sources for the exploration of social, economic, cultural and spiritual trends as well as various aspects of everyday life of a particular period. In this paper, the emphasis is on the analysis of interpersonal relationships based on data referring to the elected testamentary executors, testamentary legacies left to certain individuals and witnesses in the wills of Italian- born citizens of medieval Zadar. The analysis of a sample of 61 wills (16 published and 45 unpublished), dating from the end of the 13th to the beginning of the 15th century, reveals the emotional world of these people as well as the degree to which they were integrated into the local environment. As an important indicator of their integration into the new environment, the wills (mostly unpublished) of their spouses as members of the local population of Croatian and Roman origin are also taken into account in the analysis.
