Sažetak
In this paper, a three-dimensional finite element analysis of a T-joint fillet weld is performed to investigate the influence of different preheat temperatures and interpass time on residual stress fields and structure distortions. In the frame of the numerical investigations of preheat temperatures on the residual stress fields and deformations, two thermomechanical finite element models, denoted as M2 and M3, are analysed. The obtained results of residual stresses and plate deflections are then compared with the model M1, where the preheating technique is not applied. It is concluded that by applying the preheat temperature before the beginning of the welding process, the post-welding deformations of welded structures can be significantly reduced, while the influence of preheat temperature on the residual stress field can be almost neglected.
