Sažetak
The procedure of a safety evaluation of road composite (steel-concrete) bridges with a span of 25 to 45 m is described. The question of safety evaluation is important from the aspect of inspections but also for the conception of designing solutions that are more modern. Research of all essential parameters for bridge evaluations must be initialized in national frameworks, which will enable for a comparison and uniforming on higher levels. Research results obtained for the region of Croatia which are based upon the collecting and working-over of appropriate statistical data were used for the formulation of basic variables of actions and resistances in this paper. Deterministic and probabilistic traffic models were formed. Safety checking was performed using the FORM method for the case of ultimate limit state on the basis of flexural cross-section resistance, as well as the serviceability limit state through a limitation of stresses in structural steel. Safety indices ß were obtained for particular spans of bridges and different conceptions of erection.
