Sažetak
Bonding β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) to cellulose material was carried out in the presence of maleic acid and Na-hypophosphite as a catalyst. Prior to treatment, the samples were subjected to NaOH solution. After pre-treatment, the samples were placed in a Teflon vessel with the bath in it, and treated in a microwave oven. All the samples were squeezed on a padder, dried on a drying stenter and finally thermally cured. Laundering durability was determined according to ISO 6330:2012. The mechanism of β- CD coupling with cellulose was performed by the esterification of hydroxyl groups of β-CD or cellulose with the aid of maleic acid. The ability to bind β-CD with cellulose by maleic acid was tested using Fourier infrared spectrometry in the ATR technique. The presence of β-CD on the treated materials before and after washing cycles was confirmed using a Scanning Electron Microscopy.
