Sažetak
There are many factors that contribute to standard development such as the economical improvements, development on physical infrastructure, technological advancements, global information integration, new manufacturing techniques, automation and transportation advancements, globalization and international trading developments, etc. The international standards lower the costs of product development, enable faster market entrance, increase competition and product differentiation and serve as a mean to connect diverse, competing interests of all stakeholders in order to develop agreed standards with the potential to benefit all market players. The most significant international organisation for standardization is ISO, which conducts systematic publication of the internationally recognized standards whose application allows the unification of testing procedures and quality control of both raw materials need for production as well as the final products.
