Sažetak
Flexographic printing process, along with the digital printing process, represents the fastest growing printing technique today. Due to its recognized property of quick ink drying on non-absorbent printing substrates, this technique is commonly used in the field of flexible packaging. Flexographic printing process offers many advantages as a printing technique such as low costs and short circle time, precise ink transfer with minimum on-press adjustments. The application of conventional inks and UV curable inks enables two methods of flexographic printing: wet on wet ink and wet on dry ink. Brunner, Ritz or Preucil methods are commonly used for determination the ink trap on the previously applied ink. All mentioned methods are developed for paper as the printing substrate based on densitometric measurements. In this study, ink trapping values was observed in respect to solvent based and UV curable process inks printed by flexography printing process on a non-absorbent substrate. To achieve appropriate ink trapping method for non-absorbent printing substrate in this research three mentioned methods were compared with the image analysis results.
