Sažetak
The success of manufacturing companies in the automotive industry largely depends on speed, quality and the costs of adopting new products or technological changes of existent products, especially products with a large number of components such as cars or airplanes. Long-term competitiveness of the companies can only be sustained through continuous harmonization and improvement of business process. Applications of IT solution are one of the major competitive factors. Product Life Cycle Management (PLM) is a business solution that seeks out streamline and speeds up information flow throughout the product life cycle. By doing this, the right information is in the right context at the right time, and always available. The introduction and maintenance of such system are not easy and require the engagement of experts from various industries. This paper presents a comparison of the main impacts that resulted from the PLM implementation in the automotive industry.
