Sažetak
The aim of this paper is to explore and present discursive characteristics used in advertisements in Croatian editions of women's magazines and compare the findings to those of researches done on similar topic. The corpus for the analysis has been collected from two magazines, Gloria, which is a Croatian magazine, and Croatian edition of Cosmopolitan which has more than 40 editions across the world. The analysis was conducted on three levels – textual, discourse practice and social practice. What has been concluded is that a variety of discursive characteristics is used on all three levels of the analysis in order to attract the customers and persuade them into buying the product.
