Sažetak
The focus of this paper will be to critically assess the financing (investing) social impact as the new conceptual area in Croatia. The methodological approach used in the study includes desk research with a collection of secondary data based on available documents, reports, studies, strategies, and other relevant documents regarding social entrepreneurship in all of the researched countries. Also, we will explore part of the results PhD dissertation “The impact of the third sector in the social and economic development of Croatia". Dissertation, undertaken under European Union’s Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) project “Third Sector Impact” (grant agreement no. 613034.), has used the qualitative methodology that included interviews with key stakeholders (16) and case studies (6) of different types of organizations in the third sector. Analysis of social impact investing will be reviewed from the perspective of all three sectors: state via social policy, third sector, and private sector. After presenting the results in the discussion and conclusion we will review the potential of social impact investing as modernization tool for social and public policies as well as structural barriers to their development in the Croatian context.
