Sažetak
Osteoporosis is a disease of the skeleton in which the amount of calcium present in bones slowly decreases to the point where the bones become fragile and more likely to break. The course "Osteoporosis" was a part of continuing educatiom programme for pharmacists, doctors, and medicinal biochemists, and was organised by Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry, Zagreb, Croatia. The course took place in the following towns: Zagreb, Split, Dubrovnik, Varaždin, Koprivnica and Đakovo. Practical up-to-date information complied from the latest published biomedical information sources and the practice were provided by pharmaceutical and medical experts. The course lectures are: -Ethyopathogenesis of osteoporosis -Bone biopsy and histomorphometry -Biochemical markers of osteoporosis -Vitam D and calcium in osteoporosis -Treatment with bisphosphonates -The pharmacist in treatment of osteoporosis -Programme of exercise: Tae do - special programme that helps in prevention of osteoporosis. It uses principles of Corean fighting skills Taekwondo.
