Sažetak
The study presents the influence Christian Dior has on the contemporary fashion design. It researches the importance his first fashion show the New Look had and describes how women got back their femininity, through the fabulous dresses that featured wasp waist, high and prominent bust-line and full, long skirts. In that 10 years, Christian Dior managed to revolutionize the fashion world as they knew it and as we know it today. In that relatively short amount of time, he built the foundation for all the following individuals that took over his place at the House Dior. The study describes the most important silhouettes during his period at the house Dior and explains how his fashion is reinterpreted until today. It researches the brand codes he set and compares them within the contemporary collections. At the very end, this bachelor dissertation examines two silhouettes he created, the Bar Suit and the Oblique Line, and shows how they were reinterpreted over the years by different designers.
