Sažetak
The authors analyze the memory of socialism, related to Josip Broz Tito, in contemporary Croatia. They show how the ambivalent status of the socialist heritage is reflected in public spaces in the postsocialist period. The focus is on one of the central squares in downtown Zagreb that bore the name of Marshal Tito Square until 2017. Promemorial and countermemorial practices located on the square are critically explored and interpreted as instances of the frictioning memory.
