Sažetak
Based on archival research conducted in the scope of the TranscultAA project the author presented the mechanisms of dispossessions in Croatia during and after the Second World War and revealed the complex context of the transfers of the artworks into museums after the war. The author presented how the new Yugoslav legal system created a framework for transferring private property into state ownership through confiscation, sequestration, expropriation, and nationalization.
