Sažetak
The paper presents the results of a comparative study on a frequency of the representation and implementation of teaching a cultural heritage content outside classroom on an elementary level in Slovene and Croatian primary schools. Learning cultural heritage content should derive from the students’ personal proximity which enables them to learn and experience cultural heritage more easily. Didactic recommendations for teaching cultural heritage content in school subjects Environmental studies and Social studies in elementary level encourage teachers to apply active learning methods-especially experiential learning, which is performed also in authentic environment outside classroom. The research was based on a descriptive and non-experimental empirical research method, in which 750 participating teachers were included. Results show that teaching cultural heritage content outside the classroom is performed 2 to 4 times a year in Slovenia and also in Croatia.
